Rubbish Printing Experiment

 Have been experimenting with making prints from rubbish, this is the inside of a coke can

 Inside of a Starbucks takeaway cup, the bottom a plastic tray from ham, a bakewell tart case and bottom of plastic cake casing.

Scraps land in Ireland

Posted yesterday and arrived today - already sampling the local brew!!!!!

Travelling Sraps

 These scraps are off to Northern Ireland to stay with Kathryn

 These two are going to stay with Sid in Grays

and Sid and Nancy scrap are travelling all the way to LA

Using the Charcoal

This was sketched using the charcoal then watercolour painted over. The charcoal floated in the water and settled randomly over the picture giving it this odd, mottled effect.

The watercolour was from an old palette so I could not predict the colours or how it would take on the paper. The paper is an old piece of cartridge paper I found in a bag of scraps.

Art of Transformation in the Garden

 An old garden table found on bin day, only slightly broken, painted with old acrylic and leftover decorating paint.

 Broken bucket painted with old acrylic paints and turned into a planter.

 A bucket with a large hole in the bottom painted with acrylic paints and turned into a planter full of mint.

 To do project - neighbours were dumping this old playhouse which I plan to turn into a summer house for the pets

Another find - slightly battered but busy transforming wood into charcoal for some artwork.

The Remnant Menagerie

Made from the scrappiest scraps in the bits bag, the wool that is usually just thrown, the thread from old material, the tiny ends of cloth, the buttons that have fallen off and dropped in the road, and stuffed with leftovers, they cost nothing but time and love to make and will be attending the Rayleigh Windmill Exhibition in August.

Cornflour and Coffee

 Painting on handmade paper with coffee and cornflour, the darker blue is part of the paper. Quite difficult to paint with and cornflour and water dries very quickly, however having used cream cheese earlier (thank you very much for the suggestion, but it really didn't work). When it was first painted it was ok but as it started to dry

 it began to fade and blur. I will try to paint each substance separately and see if I can get clearer colours.

As the day goes on the cornflour 'paint' is beginning to crack.
More experimentation needed.
